Earlier today, I noticed a number of bids on DNForum for zvy.com and xz.org.

3 letter .com and 2 letter .org domains are valuable.  But, why pay the standard market price for a 3 letter .com like zvy.com when it doesn’t contain one good letter.  The underlying value for 3 letter .com domain  for a domainer is knowing a possible enduser will have a use for it.  Who could possibly use zvy?  Checking the different acronym databases, no uses turned up which is unusual.

Furthermore, 2 letter .org domains are rare.  And, possibly an organization might have a use for the letter ‘x’.   But, who could use xz.org?  The Ex Zen Assn?

In the same sales section of  DNForum, one could buy a premium 3 letter .com for a few more thousand (dollars) than the cost of zvy.com.  Knowing there is an instant market for the domain.

I suspect the possible buyer of zvy.com and xz.org is gambling.  Unfortunately, hoping there is a bigger fool down the road.

The seller of the domains purchased the domains recently.  They were purchased in the range of $ 2,500. each.  And, he plans to flip these low value domains for a quick profit.

Add’l facts – zvy.com sold today.  As an educated guess, the domain sold in the range of $ 5,000.+.

How did we let this Birthday slip by without any fanfare?

Namejet’s first day of operation was 4 yrs and 2 months ago.   October 5, 2007.

Namejet was 4 years old in October.   It’s amazing how quickly they grow up.

3 different 3 letter .orgs were sold on Namejet today.

The 3 domains were originally purchased in May, 2011 by the domainer Oliver Hoger.  He sold the domains in June, 2011 plus a few other 3 letter domains to Media Options in Panama.

6 weeks ago, Media Options contracted with Namejet to sell the 3 .org domains  in an auction which ended today.

TEO.org sold for $ 2,600.

TAJ.org sold for $ 1,309.  And, with an interesting twist, Oliver Hoger was the high bidder.

The premium domain TLT.org sold for $ x,xxx.

domainer pondering the best sales platform

Here is a clear example of the price difference when you have a large quantity of active buyers interested in a domain.

2 weeks ago, 1V1.com was offered on the domain forums .  Over a period of 10 days, the highest offer was $ 700.   The lowest offer was $ 100.  from a well known domainer – Oliver Hoger.     The seller decided to sell it through the domain brokerage site – Sedo.

Last week, 1V1.com sold on Sedo for $ 4,000.   The payment has been received by Sedo but the whois has not changed as of today.

Congratulations to the seller – Michael Belair.

eRx.com sold in auction today on Namejet for $ 7,100.

It was purchased by the Panama company – Media Options.

Media Options continuously purchases premium domains at low prices to sell at higher prices in the future.   (Buy low, Sell high.)  My compliments on the business strategy.

I’m sure this one slipped by a number of domainers looking for a homerun purchase.

eRx.com is being auctioned off in the next couple days on Namejet.  If you don’t already have your initial bid in, it is too late for you to enter the final bidding process.

What a great domain for an online drug store.

Good luck.

This domain broker has been selling premium domains long before many of the other brokers were in the business.

Many domainers may not know him.  But,  every oldtimer, inner circle and major domain owner does.  And, they consider him a good friend.

He was one of the first brokers to advertise outside the domain category.  He primarily focuses on endusers.    And, he prefers not to boast about his accomplishments.

He had a number of successful brokered sales this year.  Most contained ‘non-disclosure agreements’ which is standard procedure with transactions with end-user buyers.  And, has another one closing this week. (congratulations)

If you have a premium domain you wish to sell, you might want to contact him.  Please  don’t waste your time and his trying to sell a mediocre domain at a premium price.

If you are attending the Traffic Conference in Miami this coming weekend which is the premier domain meeting of this year, you might want to schedule a meeting with Kevin Leto.  He is a straight shooter and will tell you if he can move your domain or not.
